Karl Johan has a unique style of progressive- and tech-house with a tough techy edg and is one of Sweden’s hopes in tech house. The past year he has provided slamming remixes and singles for labels such as Tribal Vision, Spiral Trax and Plastik Park, gaining support from DJs such as Tocadisco and Eddie Halliwell, as well as reaching a top position in Beatport’s Progressive House Chart. We’re honored to have had him at TAjT last winter. Do you want to witness a magic live show? The coming weeks Karl Johan plays at Tribal Park in Mexico and at Springbreak in Gotehburg.
Did you like the mixtape? We totally adored it and are now happy to post PUNCHES’ remix of Au Revoir Simone. Listen, enjoy and, if you happen to be in Brooklyn; do not forget to go and see their gig this Saturday.

Brazilian producer Kamei introduced himself last year by producing sweaty disco tracks. Disco still is the element, but in a more meditative and motion picture soundtrack way. Not just because of the samples from The Lion King and A Space Oddysey, but also because the sound landscape is as smooth as dramatic. Download Computer Malfunction EP for free here.
There’s a huge blog explosion – everybody loves Florrie. Love in blog world means a lot of remixing. You’ve heardthe Fred Falke mixes earlier. Now it’s time for Justin Faust, Bit Funkand Def Starr to deliver their versions of amazing Florrie track Panic attack. We just love it! Download them remixes for free at Florrie’s webpage.
Yelle is in the studio, working on their next album. We’ve already heard some of the results – their collab with Crookers. In the meantime they started the mini-project Yelle DJ’s which will provide us with monthly dj-mixes from Yelle and friends. The March Mix was made by French DJ Julien2000. This time its time for Tepr. Tepr is one third of Yelle and is also a solo dj/producer we certainly will hear more from in the near future.
So, earlier this year Robyn anounced she’s releasing three mini-albums in 2010. A press release today revealed the track list and promo video for the first one, Body Talk Pt 1.
Robyn explains: ”I got all these great songs so why not? It’s been 5 years since ”Robyn” and I didn’t want to wait with a release until they are all recorded, so I decided to start putting them out right away. I also can’t wait to play live again and this enables me to tour and record at the same time. I just want to keep making music.”
Robyn – Fembot
Among the tracks there’s the robo-rap track Fembot, her collab with Diplo- Dance Hall Queen, and the Swedish folk song Jag vet en dejlig rosa that Robyn performed at a tsunami memorial in 2007. Body Talk Pt 1 is supposed to land on June 7th together with the single Dancing On My Own. We’re really looking forward to see what this is evolving into. It can’t be anything less than great!
1. Don’t Fucking Tell Me What To Do
2. Fembot
3. Dancing On My Own
4. Cry When You Get Older
5. Dance Hall Queen
6. None of Dem
7. Hang With Me (acoustic)
8. Jag Vet En Dejlig Rosa
Earlier this year we introduced you to the Lauren Flax remix of great MEN track Simultaneously. As you already now, it’s hard to make too many good remixes out of a great track. This catchy disco-electro remix of this Brooklyn up ‘n coming electro-disco act Tète-à-Tète is really worth some listening. Just like another Brooklyn producer (VIS À VIS), Tète à Tète has taken his name from a french expression. Tète-à-Tète, or face to face, has also made a catchy remix of AC Slater and Ninjasonik‘s Take you.
